10 Jewellery Trends for 2026

What do we predict for the year ahead in the jewellery industry? It’s undeniable that the steady shift to the curated and bespoke in terms of design and styling is expected to continue into 2026. Jewellery buying and gifting is becoming more of a ritual, rite of passage and expression of self than ever before, and we expect to see these themes as drivers in jewellery acquisition for the rest of the year and beyond. However, as a brand founder and jewellery company we are keenly aware that the wild fluctuations in the bullion price of precious metals like silver and gold mean that road ahead for everyone in the jewellery industry is, at best, going to be bumpy.

The bullion price for both silver and gold experienced unprecedented volatility in 2025 and the forecast for 2026 is equally uncertain. Gold finished the year just under double and silver bullion at almost triple the price from January 2025, meaning that trend reports from the fashion and jewellery industries need to have one eye on the bullion market right now. It’s no surprise that publications like British Vogue and Maria Claire are heralding sculpted silver and gemstone jewellery as the trends to watch in 2026 as precious metals like gold and platinum move even further beyond the average jewellery buyer’s budget.

With an eye to these unpredictable fluctuations in precious metal bullion prices these are the jewellery trends we expect to see exploding everywhere in 2026.

1. The Silver Surge

Even with the near vertical upward trajectory in the price of silver bullion in the last few months that are pushing this work-horse precious metal further into the realms of high fashion it still remains an accessible alternative to pricier metals like gold and platinum.

Publications like British Vogue and Maria Claire are heralding 2026 as the year of the sculpted statement silver piece – or two - and it’s easy to see why this under-rated metal is now giving main character energy. Silver is soft and malleable, making it the perfect material for sculpting bold and unique shapes or forming gentle curves and playing with light and shadow in unique hammering. As chunky wristwear moves beyond the mid-range price point we expect to see well-made chunky earrings, puffy hoops and statement pendant necklaces fill the vacuum for handmade jewellery that is higher end, off the high street yet still affordable.

Silver is also a finite resource, making it a good investment in the long run – what’s not to love about this valuable heirloom-worthy precious metal?

2. Long-Short Chains and Stacks

The versatility of chain stacking evolves this year to accommodate longer, looser styles that allow statement pendants and drops to sway in eye-catching ways that a shorter stack restricts. Given the increased price pain of precious metals, we expect to see more demand for chains in lengths between 80-120cm as affordable alternatives for transforming and re-vamping existing statement pendants and charms in new and inventive ways.

Longer chains are also great for giving the impression of height, whether worn alone or as part of a stack. Drop chains draw the eye vertically from neck to navel and even more so when teamed with a statement pendant that balances this vertical eye-play beautifully.

3. Fisherman Style

While the marine core trend that took off in 2025 is still very popular, the coming year will see more general beach and mermaid motifs evolve into a refined and bespoke interpretation of this appealing jewellery theme.

Unique motifs like seahorses, turtles, starfish, crustaceans and catch of the day fish species will add to the general wave and beach motifs of last year in a deep dive into this beach-life trend that never really goes out of style.

4. Mixed Metals are Here to Stay

Given the price pressure on precious metals, it’s no surprise that the demand for mixed metal jewellery is expected to grow. We also love how cool silver gives a modern refresh to tones of yellow gold and gold-coloured brass. Can’t afford solid gold? Then this is the new year trend for you. Vermeil designs featuring solid 925 silver plated in 9ct and 14ct gold are just as appealing as solid yellow gold while sterling silver is the perfect replacement for platinum and white gold.

Opt for heirloom jewellery that features precious metal plated with precious metal to future-proof your jewellery collection against the tsunami surge in bullion prices that is predicted for the rest of the year and beyond for all precious metal bullion.

5. Versatile Styling

Modern jewellery is all about personalization and I-made-this combinations and jewellery sets. The bracelet, necklace and ring stacking style of recent years is evolving into more curated and thought-out designs that are put together with care and attention to detail. Who says a chunky bracelet can’t stack with a chunky bracelet? This year is all about breaking design norms and making our jewellery more uniquely ours.

6. Gemstones Galore

While gemstones have always had huge appeal for birthday gifting in the form of birth month stones this year we expect to see gemstone break out from birthday gifting and be celebrated in their own right. Pale gems like soft citrine and bubblegum pink rose quartz are the perfect foils for vibrant amethyst, wine red garnet and midnight black onyx and obsidian in unusual combinations that allow the beauty of these natural gems to pop and shine.

7. Heritage Jewellery Re-imagined

The T-bar trend inspired by the Victorian pocket-watch chain so often found in heritage jewellery continues to be popular with pendant only styles that need no stacking and longer layering that draws the eye down the decolletage.

Neckwear stacks are looser and more bespoke than the tight ready-made or off the shelf stacks of previous years, with mixed-metal appeal adding depth and interest not just to the neck but also wrist and finger stacks that predominantly featured one metal.

8. Victorian Drama

The Baroque trend for heavy ornate filigree and scrollwork comes of age in 2026 as the vintage revival takes the wheel in jewellery design but with a more contemporary edge. The drama of Victorian jewellery design with its heavily antiqued, almost gothic blackened niello and brushed finishes is balanced with delicate pearls that are still having their fashion moment.

Why not go two for one with a design that brings the charm of pearls with Victorian detailing in a new-old antiqued shape. This is refined Victorian style, and we expect to see the bold Baroque shapes of the past few years replaced with pearls, both faux and natural, paired with elegant bows and nature motifs like vines, flowers and tree leaf shapes.

9. Unique By Design

Jewellery as a personal statement of self has never been more popular. Mass-produced factory-made designs are making way for more bespoke, hand-made jewellery that charts the shortest possible line between jeweller and wearer.

There’s nothing more heart-warming than receiving the gift of a unique piece of jewellery that you know the giver has spent time contemplating to get the ideal gift just for you. They have somehow condensed the characteristics they love about you into a truly unique and special piece of jewellery that speaks directly to your soul – it could be a teddy bear necklace for the eternally young at heart, a design loaded with cultural significance that speaks to your heritage or a simple reminder of a cherished but not forgotten pet. Let’s embrace this trend with both arms!

10. The Subtle Elegance of Fine Jewellery

While big and bold have their place in statement jewellery and unique design, a niche is being carved for subtle jewellery that speaks to who we are but in a beautifully-made, unusual and significant way that does not need to shout it’s appeal from the rafters. We don’t mean 18ct gold for the sake of how precious the metal is, or a brilliant cut diamond. This is jewellery that could just a well be artisanal or hand-made and cost a fraction of the price of high-end Cartier and Tiffany designs but be just as cherished and treasured for their unique appeal.

We can’t wait to see the unique ways these symbolic pieces of jewellery are interpreted into everyday style in the coming months and hopefully years.
