Maria Belen Designer Jewellery

Maria Belen breathes new life into traditional Mexican myths with her handmade designs inspired by the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. She also draws inspiration from the Mexican artists Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, the latter of which inspires many of her pieces that pay homage to the pain and passion in the work of this famous ground-breaking painter.

Maria Belen also combines images that inspire her from the natural world with elements of religious symbolism in a marriage of concepts that is exclusively unique to her jewellery designs. Sometimes rockabilly, sometimes steam punk, her designs are always interesting.

While not a native of Mexico Maria Belen has made the silver-mining town of Taxco in Mexico her home. She embraces the natural elements around her to create unique heirloom pieces of jewellery that are sure to be enjoyed for generations to come.
