My family travelled a lot when I was young and the wanderlust life is in my blood. After graduating from Bristol in the UK with a degree in English I worked in various different roles related to PR and Marketing but the open road was always calling.

After re-training to teach English I worked in several international language schools and universities in both the UK and Mexico – where I met my future husband, business and travelling partner Jay. Together we travelled the length and breadth of Mexico but were always drawn back to the small city of Taxco located in the Mexican alti plano south of Mexico City. It is steeped in the tradition of silversmithing and rich with the history of the master silversmiths of the Mexican silver renaissance like William Spratling, Antonio Pineda and many others who helped Mexican jewellery design achieve international acclaim.

A business that began as a side-hustle and a small-scale appreciation of Mexican jewellery design and an excuse to return to Taxco to work with silversmiths and designers on unique pieces of jewellery has grown into a fully-fledged UK-based jewellery brand with the mission of promoting the excellence in design and quality craftsmanship of Mexican jewellery to a world-wide audience.

Established over 15 years ago, The Mexican Collection brand is our ode to Mexico and the relationships we have built with our silversmiths and designers over the year.

As Managing Director of The Mexican Collection I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in silversmithing, small business management and jewellery design innovation. I am passionate about our brand and promoting the superior quality of our handmade jewellery.

Outside of work I am an avid collector of vintage Mexican jewellery and am studying the history of Mexican jewellery design.
